Projects and PHOTOS

YouTube

I just started a YouTube channel and I really want to post some videos but currently I am not able to because there are so many new things. Everything changes and I just need time to get used to it. I have many ideas for cool vlogs and other projects. For example I want to collect peoples' first impressions on Taiwan and Taipei. I want to record this with my iPad. My aim is to post a Video like this every 5 to 8 weeks and see if something changes. Maybe due to weather or other circumstances in Taiwan.

Walkabout Tour

The Walkabout Tour is part of my work as trainee in Topology Travel (topologytravel.com). It is a tour for locals to visit uncommon places in and around Taipei. Jesper, another trainee, and I are supposed to, first be a tour guide for a recent tour and then create our own tour to a place we decide. I really appreciate this work because it is very independent and we have much space to do the things the way we want to. We have many ideas and enough time and space to gain experience and learn new things about how to be a good tour guide and background knowledge about the places we visit.

Another part of my work will be to publish two or three photos a day on the Topology Travel Facebook page (Topology-Travel-in-Real-Taiwan Facebook). Some of these photos will be added to my blog (seperated post). I don't really know how this will evolve in future. But again: There is much to learn and find out.

I found a music store with some nice ukulele and a nice guitar I bought! :)))

This is North Gate in Taipei. It was build during the Qing dynasty and is the only of the 5 gates that still look like it was build!

Some noodle soup in Ximending. Very delicious and the best to get after a long walk!

Some strange guy with strange art... This photo was taken beside the Red House near Ximen station. Btw: The Red House was the first public market in Taiwan and build in 1908.

Yes this is a temple! The entrance only slightly between shops. Here many Taiwanese come once a month to practice their religion: Taoism.

Inside: This is a very impressing place. Build very detailed and a kind of scary and holy place for me.

Nice work! A street artist just finished the Transformers character Optimus Prime. The figure is made of wire in different colors. Very impressive work. He told me this took him two weeks.
The guy next to him was some friend who just joined the photo! Taiwanese are very funny and not scared of strangers or photobomb.

That's it for today! If you have any questions due to my work or my life here in Taipei, leave a comment below! Make sure to add my Instagram and Twitter to get the current pictures or posts during this amazing time.

Blogging is about...

Sun Moon Lake Sunrise Hey and hello! I arrived in Germany about two months ago and had a lot of work and organisation to do. But by now I have enough spare time to share all the stories and pictures from the last three months. For me blogging is something like a diary. Moreover it is a way to share my thoughts and moments with you and anyone who wants to read them, I like the freedom of doing this and I really want to catch up writing again. I will try to give an update every week. A few photos and a relating story. Furthermore the stories will have certain labels, where you can find them. Additional there will be other labels for different locations. Example: "story, Asia" or "story, Germany". I hope you are looking forward to this project with the same thrill of anticipation as I do. See you next week! Lukas

About my last days in Asia

The last part of my journey through Asia Penang Again. The sticky and humid air surrounds me and gives me the feeling of being back “home” in Taiwan. But yet different, because now I am in Penang, where I never would have been without a friend of mine, Micha. He went there for one year and told me some nice stories about the people, food and especially the church he worked in. He made me so curious that I booked the flight from Tokyo.  You may ask yourself why I decided to fly such a complicated route. Geographically it makes no sense, but this route is simply the cheapest one. So I landed in Penang and took a bus to Georgetown, the world heritage part of Penang. One difference I recognized immediately was that this country is a Muslim country. The women were wearing headscarves and it was the first time I saw mosques in Asia. On my first day I explored Georgetown and all the beautiful old buildings. The hostel I stayed in was close to a district called “Little ...
