Only a few things/contracts/15 DAYS

Only a few things to get!

I now have almost everything I will take with me on my journey.
Now I start packing, in the next days I will put everything together and see how much space I need.
Following I will get to the city and see what backpack seems to be suitable.

Everything concerning the backpack and my luggage on Friday!

Translate a contract

This was my task for the last days. Translating contracts. I had to do this because the office for child allowance wanted a german contract and refused to read the English one. Just another proof of the German inadeqacy to show some sort of kindness and accommodation concerning bureaucratic stuff.

And now the next contract waits for me, this time I need to translate from German to English.
Some necessary information first: I completed the school not with the Abitur. I choosed to change to a commercial college. So I ended up with the Fachabitur. As some of you know, the Fachabitur has two parts. A theoretical part (completed with graduation) and a practial (24 weeks of internship). These 24 weeks I will be doing in Taiwan so I can study in Germany afterwards.

The school told me: Yes, we have a special trainee contract and we have a nice version in English for you and the company you will be in. - NICE! - So I got the original German contract and the English version. I just read them both to be sure to have the right translation. I noted there were some differences and after some Emails it turned out that they don't have a english version of the contract I need.
Now I have five pages of complicate conract language to translate.

Feels kinda bonus on my injured ankle!

Thats it for today!

Blogging is about...

Sun Moon Lake Sunrise Hey and hello! I arrived in Germany about two months ago and had a lot of work and organisation to do. But by now I have enough spare time to share all the stories and pictures from the last three months. For me blogging is something like a diary. Moreover it is a way to share my thoughts and moments with you and anyone who wants to read them, I like the freedom of doing this and I really want to catch up writing again. I will try to give an update every week. A few photos and a relating story. Furthermore the stories will have certain labels, where you can find them. Additional there will be other labels for different locations. Example: "story, Asia" or "story, Germany". I hope you are looking forward to this project with the same thrill of anticipation as I do. See you next week! Lukas

About my last days in Asia

The last part of my journey through Asia Penang Again. The sticky and humid air surrounds me and gives me the feeling of being back “home” in Taiwan. But yet different, because now I am in Penang, where I never would have been without a friend of mine, Micha. He went there for one year and told me some nice stories about the people, food and especially the church he worked in. He made me so curious that I booked the flight from Tokyo.  You may ask yourself why I decided to fly such a complicated route. Geographically it makes no sense, but this route is simply the cheapest one. So I landed in Penang and took a bus to Georgetown, the world heritage part of Penang. One difference I recognized immediately was that this country is a Muslim country. The women were wearing headscarves and it was the first time I saw mosques in Asia. On my first day I explored Georgetown and all the beautiful old buildings. The hostel I stayed in was close to a district called “Little ...
