First of all: Sorry I forgot to post on Monday. I was so busy and concentrated on my work and the experiences. I totally forgot to write the blog. But here you go!:
Low point
The last days I recognized that I enjoy the life but I also miss home a lot. The last days I was very stressed and happy when I arrived at home. The work is not bad and I like it. You meet many people and have nice conversation, you learn much about the culture and the history. But this doesn't change my thinking about home. I have five other roommates. If they leave early or go to bed late I am not able to sleep well. Yesterday I actually came to a low point because if you cannot sleep well and if you work 8-9 hours a day you are just glad to come home and relax. In fact I didn't visit any popular places like Taipei 101. Actually yesterday I just wished myself back home. A change like this is not easy to make but I recognized that this is my way and I decided to do this so I will carry on and hope for better days.
Love
Yes I didn't told you but I have a girlfriend. We met each other about three weeks before I left and felt in love with each other. Yes, that is a short time but I don't think that love cares about time. Some people fall at first sight others need years of friendship to fall for each other. I am very happy with this relationship and really thankful.
Of course there are many disadvantages of a long distance relationship. First of all the distance (obvious) and time shift. These are the most difficult things. You have no physical relationship to that person. You can only see each other by using Skype or other similar programs. You can call each other. That is what we do the most. We just talk. It helps us to get closer and to care about each other. Doing this, you obviously face time shift problems. When I am tired she is fully awake and in action. Same situation the other way round. Depends on when we are talking. But this can be a good thing as well. We can cheer up each other and give strength, motivate when we are down.
All in all this is a very exiting time for us and every day we learn more about each other. In my opinion we got a good basis to build this relationship. We both are christian (for us, the same confession is very important and a good basis), we both are honest and trust each other, obviously miss each other but also make plans and see the future and the time we will share together. We support each other in projects we do like a preparation for a youth group or writing a blog. We have a goal that we want to reach together.
Concluding: I am happy. If you have any ideas or other things crossing your mind concerning this topic please leave a comment below. I would like to read what you think about this.
Food?
In Taiwan rice and noodles are very popular. Also pork and beef. At the beginning this was a little bit strange to me but now I like the food. You have so many choices and every twenty meters you can grab some food. As far as I experienced, food is a important part in Taiwanese culture :P

Very delicious noodle soup! You can buy these almost everywhere on the streets. Mostly with seafood in it. But original Taiwanese style is the beef noodle soup below ;)
OCTOPUS??? Yes, this may look not so tasty, but it is. Seen, bought and tried on a night market. If you ever visit Taipei, night market and special food is a must do.
These two photos were taken during a thyphoon. Nothing can stop a Taiwanese from a BBQ.

Really envy you all the good food - still remember the night market, just a walk away from my hotel. Thanks for sharing your story. Go some private space for you - I know that's not so easy in a city like Taipeh. I loved those hot springs up the mountains, especially the very old one. Ey - no worries about not posting for a while, you're not a newspaper...!
