Why Toby and Thelmas Camping is worth travelling any distance to.

Paradise After an amazing, silent night with the calming sound of the ocean in the background, I woke up and got out of my tent to recognize I was in paradise: Camping The campground is only small and offers space for maximum 15 persons. The small group of guests provided the opportunity of a friendly and relaxing atmosph ere. Moreover the bewitching environment, the friendly staff and the amazing food made this campground a priceless experience for me. The price of about 26 € per night included three meals a day (two buffet meals and a breakfast) and free use of all equipment for example Kayaks.  I took a ten minute ride to the next small island everyday.  This small Island was called "the office" It was the only opportunity to get some Internet and a call from my girlfriend. Actually this week was very hard for the relationship. The time difference, a bad connection, we were able hear each other only a few times...

Why travelling in Taiwan is the best you can experience (Part 1)

Hey everyone! I'm glad I found some time to continue my blog! Since I am travelling I don't have really much time or I am just to tired! I hope you enjoy! Within the next two weeks there will be two more entrys coming. One at January the 20th and the next one about first February! Stay tuned! Update on my last article It is really fun to write down all the funny and strange things about Taiwan, compare all the cultural oddnesses and see why there are such differences or similarities between Taiwan and Germany. Altough I am only able to compare these both countries it is very interesting to read for everyone. Maybe it will give you a new perspective of seeing Taiwan. I will post a version here! Thoughts I am sitting in a fancy Café in Kaoshiung, south-west of Taiwan, enjoying the quiet atmosphere and a coffee mocha. Thinking about the last six days travelling, about my time in Taipei, all the experiences and how everything changed me and my view on my life. Tho...

Giving a lecture as a nineteen year old?

Tamsui University Last Wednesday Allan and I were invited to give a lecture at Tamkang University in Tamsui. The students study business and tourism. Therefore we were invited to talk about Topology Travel. My task was to tell the students about my internship and the true feelings while working. I introduced my work and shared some experience I made during my time in Taiwan. The students had a lot of questions and I had a lot of time to answer them all and gave a small view insight into my life and feelings. I had a lot of fun doing this and was instantly thinking of my dad who is teacher. To share knowledge and experience with others can be very nice. But I also can imagine the part, which is not so nice: Students don’t listen, are loud, making fun of something and interrupt the class. Actually I was one of these students before I joined the commercial high school. I don’t know why I did this. Maybe I didn’t want to take responsibility for the things I did and thought about it. ...

Life-changing times

My experiences Within the last weeks I discovered so many things. I got confronted with situations and problems I never thought about. I got into a complete new culture. A different world. I made the step out of home and my comfort zone. Every day I experienced something new and different. Every day I felt new and unknown feelings. Since 16th September I got to know the Taiwanese kindness, the beautiful nature and the excellent food. I met and talked to so many people from all different nations. I started a job and carry full responsibility for the things I do. I learned how to plan a tour and guide it. I gained skills in writing and made experiences in journalism. Now I know what it means to have a full time job and still do all the things that have to be done in addition. I also experienced getting homesick and being at a low point, completely unhappy and unsatisfied with my situation. But as well, standing up again. Making changes. Getting the situation and my life into th...

soaked hiking - survive in Taiwan - impact of German culture

Tamsui and Shilin night market Tamsui is a historical city near to the coast with a nice harbor. It was very interestimg to visit. I took the ferry across the river and walked around a bit. Unfortunately it was to dark. Otherwise I would have rent a bike, because they have a really old cycling path next to the coast. Back in Tamsui I visited some shops and took back the MRT to Shilin where I visited the largest night market in Taipei. A lot of food and crazy stuff there. I think the pictures describes best: A historical temple in middle of Tamsui, surrounded by high bulidings this Temple is a beautiful place to calm down. The view from Tamsui to Bail. Crazy jewelry. Would never buy that.   In this building I visited a dessert factory. Very delicious A presbyterian church in Tamsui. Berliner Landbrot?? Germany influences Taiwan. Germany influences Taiwan part 2 After the long day  I took a foot massage. Very nice. I slept well. Yan...
