Surprising facts, sun, moon and surfing

Wow, surprising stats!

I just discovered that this blog got over 1100 views. This is amazing, I never expected to reach that goal within this time. Thank you! This is a great response, I really like to write this blog and I like it even more if you like it. The last entries reached almost 100 each.
Furthermore I got a great response from Germans as well as from Taiwanese. Especially the feedback from Taiwanese was cool, because I could offer them a new perspective on Taiwan, Taipei and the everyday life here.
THANK YOU!

Where sun and moon meet

Not completely true but Sun Moon Lake is called like this, because the left side looks like a moon and the right side like a sun.
I was invited to join the trip by my boss from Topology. He just got married last Wednesday. I really feel honored I to be invited to his wedding as well as the brief journey.
In fact it was really nice and really strange. We visited a old paper mill and a honey farm. Then headed towards the lake and did a bicycle ride (Photos below), the next day we went to a tea factory and back to Taipei. In my opinion the trip was to short, I really would like to have more time to see the nature around Sun Moon Lake next time. There were so many nice mountains and things I want to see.
Now the strange part: I never traveled in a large group like this (ca. 35 ppl.) and did you know what Taiwanese like to do on bus trips? The love to sing karaoke! I just falled asleep and woke up by the cheerful singing bus. I was very surprised. Taiwanese have a funny and easygoing culture: They love to laugh and be in large groups, eat much and be happy.

Surfing?

Today I went to Jiaoxi and visited the east coast of Taiwan.
I was really glad a friend of mine wrote me the way down in English and Chinese so I could ask anybody to help me find the way. This was a really nice experience, because I was alone and didn't know where to go and how to go back. But finally I got there.
I wanted to rent a surfboard and try surfing but unfortunately the tide and the wind was to strong. But I really enjoyed the time, the waves, the wind and the landscape. But I still didn't know how to get back to Taipei. There was an old couple taking pictures and I asked them if they could show me how to get to the next train station. In the end of the story they drove me to the station and we had a nice conversation. Taiwanese people are so nice and open minded. I never expected this kindness.

  2. It looks like you did have a great time in Jiaoxi. It seems like I can feel the breeze and waves from your pictures.

When we sang karaoke on the bus, I just told Amy that you must think that we're a group of annoying people. It's really interesting knowing more about Taiwan from a different perspective. "They love to laugh and be in large groups, eat much and be happy." Hahaha I'm not sure if every Taiwanese is all the same or only people from Topology Travel love to laugh really loud, eat incredibly much and be extremely noisy ;D Hope you'll find more strange parts about Taiwan.

(I've found me and Core in your picture. What a nice surprise!)

Blogging is about...

Sun Moon Lake Sunrise Hey and hello! I arrived in Germany about two months ago and had a lot of work and organisation to do. But by now I have enough spare time to share all the stories and pictures from the last three months. For me blogging is something like a diary. Moreover it is a way to share my thoughts and moments with you and anyone who wants to read them, I like the freedom of doing this and I really want to catch up writing again. I will try to give an update every week. A few photos and a relating story. Furthermore the stories will have certain labels, where you can find them. Additional there will be other labels for different locations. Example: "story, Asia" or "story, Germany". I hope you are looking forward to this project with the same thrill of anticipation as I do. See you next week! Lukas

How I do my blog

Technical stuff Within the first six weeks I didn’t changed much. I used the Blogger editor on the Internet and wasn’t really thinking about what to write. I just let go. For my Photos I used my iPad mini. But I bought a new mobile phone here with a better camera, so I am using that now. Only for panorama pictures I use the iPad, because iOS offers the best option for that. I make a choice of the best photos and upload them to Google drive. From there I download the photos on my laptop to insert the pictures more easily. I never got into HTML deeply so I am not really able to use a really good template on my blog. But I changed to use an Editor on my laptop to insert tables and get the photos in a better way to display on the blog. The editor I use is Windows Live Writer. Maybe not the best tool, but it is okay for my needs. Now to the interesting part: How I choose my topic Choosing a topic to write about got more complicated for me within the last four weeks. In the beginn...
